Traveler of Souls

sacred-feminine

A part of all is known
the one who bore these souls
New life, new reason came
Wrapped inside love’s season
Longing to be, of a world unknown

Given breath barely breathing
A warm heart was once a part
and now apart from the womb
Into the home beside the hearth
Wonder at the reasons …

Whose choice was this to be
and what seed was planted ‘neath
The soils and the sins
Forever, wanting eyes to see
itself within love’s season

To hear the music of the soul
The ringing in the ears of time
The method and the madness echoes
Reaching out to some sad truth
and lost not knowing why

Eternities are ever present
A sacred cord her love conceals
Desire’s everlasting quest
Divine the mother’s holy light
To the travelers of souls

The Paradox of Being

light-ness of being
as thought now enfolds
where nature surrounds us
through ages untold

enters life and the living
returning to find
all we once were
now again in the mind

earth wind and fire
consuming the graves
hides truth in the waters
washed beneath waves

like roots within soil
the quick sands of time
are drifting in deserts
of worlds left behind

now forever returning
desire to feel
or a destiny free from
what life will conceal

Toward Forever

The morning sun breaks over the mountain’s peak
Before me the waters of this pond rest in stillness
Earth moves silently beneath the place where I am
A lingering cool morning mist embraces my being

Insects buzz, hovering as the sun warms the day
The calm surface ripples as a night’s hunger is filled
Waves move together as they blend and merge
Life’s constant motion, in this mirror of the sky

A soft breeze caresses my face, embracing me
in love from a distant shore, another place and time
This wind has always been and ever shall be
My breath mingles there along with ancient voices

At moon rise, the smooth surface of the water speaks
The cricket calling in the distance becomes my way
And nearly sleeping I walk upon the glassy waters
Leaving not a trace, as I wander toward forever
