About grandfathersky

A poet and a dreamer, born with Saturn retrograde in Scorpio gave me a push into the next generation.
One of my earliest memories was asking myself; Why Life? I have been searching ever since. Found some answers, and found there are many more questions than answers could ever tell.
I’ve enjoyed writing prose and poetry since High School, and I have the heart of love to thank for that.
Since those years I have always found myself keeping journals to help understand my feelings, trying to make sense of a sometimes senseless world, and I’ve found through the reflection that writing has given me, there is always meaning.
My hope is that by sharing my thoughts and feelings through the words I write, and have written, I can shed a light where there may be darkness, or just chase away some clouds on an already sunny day.

  4. I admire your work and your unique voice, and I have nominated you for the Sunshine Award.

If you wish to accept it, there are three steps: post a thank-you and link to my site, answer the seven questions that I answered in my post, and nominate 10 other bloggers you admire. Then enjoy the award on your blog!

Thanks for your efforts. Peace & Grace, “Sister Olive”

    • Late November, double Scorpio, moon in Pisces … Hard for me to get grounded! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I’ve been over and now following your blog, I appreciate your perspectives … Thanks -gs

  5. Peter, I would like to share the Very Inspiring Blogger Award with you. If you accept, please find the award here. Your blog is truly inspiring and uplifting. Thank you for making my days and those of others a brighter place!

  6. I’ve always found there to be way more questions than answers! And, increasingly: I find them more interesting.

  7. Hi, Grandfather Sky – I just noticed that sometimes I haven’t replied to comments to my posts by clicking on the reply button just under the comment. I’m reposting some of them now. (Yours was one!)

  8. Hi Grandfather Sky; I’ve been following your comments on Linda Willow’s beautiful blog, and have been meaning to visit you for awhile now. I’m so glad I finally did – I love your poetry and am now following you. I’ll be back to explore more of your wonderful words. ~ Julie

  9. Just passing along this info to all my ABC Award nominees..….I think it’s a great idea, I have already joined! See you there!

    Congratulations on your ABC Award!
As the originator of this award you may be interested to know that I have now set up a Facebook group for all bloggers who have been given the ABC Award – a place for you to meet new bloggers, and share and support each other. You can join the group here:
    https://www.facebook.com/groups/ABCaward/?bookmark_t=group
Please also let any other bloggers, that you know have been given the award, know about this group too – then we can all ‘spread the word’
I have also set up a Facebook page – the ABC Award – where you can now add links to all of your blog posts and writing – share your work with a new audience, gain new readers, and find out what other ABC Award bloggers are writing about.
You can find the page here:
    https://www.facebook.com/ABCaward?bookmark_t=page
Just ‘like’ the page and get started – and do let all your blog readers know about this page – I believe that all of our blogs can only be improved by letting our readers know about other blogs – that way you will also have new readers discover you too!
Happy blogging – and congratulations again on the ABC Award – you’re awesome!

  10. I was wondering if you would be willing to be a guest blogger on my site one day soon. I just love your writing and would be so honoured if you would contribute a post to my blog (with full credit given of course). You are more than welcome to use an image of your own to accompany the post, or I can chose one of mine that I feel is appropriate. Feel free to email me if you are interested.

  11. Hi Grandfather – I’m new to your site and love your insight and reflection. I found you by way of Diane (coastalmom) and I’m glad I stopped by. A soft and caring energy comes through in your writing. It’s refreshing. I look forward to reading more and getting to know you.

    • Hi Pat, and welcome. I love Coastalmom’s writing and art, she is amazing and also warm hearted. I have not been posting as much lately as I used up my library of saved writing, I have to be creative, and my work (day job) these days takes a lot out of me. Look forward to hearing more comments. It always helps me improve … All the best, Peter (gfs)

      • Thank you Peter for the warm welcome. I get what you’re saying about using up your library of saved writing. I haven’t written much so far compared to others but I wonder sometimes, when I do write, if I’ll run out of material or inspiration.

I enjoyed what I’ve read so far on your blog. You have a gift. There’s an energy that comes through in your work. It’s nice.

  13. Grandpappy,

I posted yesterday for the first time since early June. I mentioned a few of my favorite people in my post, which “of course” included you. I see you’re still here. You’re just so steady and purposeful, or so it seems. I am erratic and all over the map… at least that’s how I feel. You have such a calming effect on my soul though. I always love seeing your face. I was afraid that I had been gone so long that no one would remember me… Except you… I know you wouldn’t forget me. lol… I hope all is well for you and that you are blessed beyond measure.

    • Ava –
I’ve been told I have that affect on people. Life has been in mild chaos for me too. Having relocated to be closer to our families, packing moving and getting settled takes a lot of energy, but it is enjoyable too. So glad to see you back. I am surprised I didn’t get notified of your posting, although as I said I miss things lately due to my energies being spread a little thinner. Hope all is well and you are continuing to thrive!
      All the best,
      Peter

  14. It has been a long long time since I visited your blog! And no excuse for that! Visited my blog, uploaded photos and just vanished into real world and world of social networking! Social Networking got hold of me. In particular, g+, where I am very active member. But frankly, my heart always remained with WordPress, as I uploaded the pictures here which were close to my heart. It is a place where I let go. Though, recently, it has been a confused journey. I must admit, your comments have made me realise that, my confusion is very evident to others too and I need to relax and enjoy my hobby.

      • aha, a true Scorpio-eagle-Phoenix… 🙂 I was almost sure you’re a water sign: Crabby, Fish or Scorpio… you must be quite direct, sincere, straight-to-the point, but mysterious, discreet, reserved… you do know what you do NOT want in your life or around you… you prefer high quality, not “negligible” quantity… 😉

my quick translation: to a Phoenix… by Anne Hébert

blown ashes reshape your wings – feather after feather,
you show up again wide open eyes, facing the sun,
pointing once more the star of the day –
eternity has overturned over its bed of dead leaves…“

      • @”antiques”… well, it depends on quality, of course… 🙂 my ascendant(and personality!) is “lioness”(LOL!), so I’m kinda “fire beneath the ice”, like… Iceland where I’ve been twice! 🙂

  15. Today, I thought about your encouragements and thought about how you weren’t at all related to me in any way except through our respective blogs. It made me wonder, how do you become an understanding person?

I hope you are doing well. 🙂
